FARGO – Democratic Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp announced this evening that she’ll be holding a town hall event Thursday in Minot to discuss energy issues.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. May 3 in the downstairs meeting room of the Minot Public Library, 516 2nd Ave. SW.

In a release sent at 6 p.m. today, Heitkamp’s campaign said: “Heidi is a longtime advocate for a strong, multi-pronged energy industry in North Dakota.”

For the past 10 years, Heitkamp has worked as a director for Dakota Gasification Company.

This is the second issue-driven town hall Heitkamp has held this year for her Senate campaign.

In April, Heitkamp stopped in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks for town halls held to criticize Republican Rep. Rick Berg‘s support for the House Republicans’ budget.

Berg is the Republican Party’s endorsed candidate in the U.S. Senate race.
