FARGO – North Dakota Sen. John Hoeven will be in Fargo-Moorhead on Friday with Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Rep. Collin Peterson for a tour of flood preparation efforts and a discussion of longterm protection plans in the Red River Valley.
According to a media advisory from Hoeven’s office:
The federal lawmakers will first meet with the Red River Retention Authority and Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) in Moorhead to discuss plans to improve water retention throughout the valley.
Following the meeting, Hoeven, Klobuchar and Peterson will tour the sites of several flood protection projects along the Red River in the metro area.
Then at around 3:15 p.m., the trio will head to Fargo’s Sandbag Central to meet with volunteers who began this week to fill the 3 million sandbags that are expected to be used for this spring’s flood fight.
