Dorgan to serve as policy adviser at D.C. law firm

Byron Dorgan

FARGO – Former North Dakota Sen. Byron Dorgan said last week he’d be a policy adviser with a Washington, D.C., law firm, and an announcement today makes it official.

Dorgan will be one of two former senators working with the government relations practice of Arent Fox LLP, according to a statement from the firm. Utah Republican Bob Bennett also has joined the firm.

Dorgan will also serve as co-chairman of the firm’s government relations practice, along with former Pennsylvania rep. Phil English. (Check out Dorgan’s biography page on Arent Fox’s website.)

Arent Fox Chairman Mark M. Katz said the firm is “extraordinarily pleased” to bring the two former U.S. senators on board.

“They bring a remarkable amount of leadership, knowledge and experience in key policy areas including taxes, energy, financial services, and trade,” Katz said. “They will add a tremendous amount of proven strategic, policy and business expertise that is important to our clients and our law firm.”

Arent Fox has offices in Washington, New York City and Los Angeles and employs more than 350 attorneys nationwide. Among the firm’s clients are Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, trade associations and foreign governments.
